That 2013 ice storm in Louisville changed my whole setup process

We had that big ice storm back in February 2013 and I was sent to a house on Bardstown Road. Everyone was without power for a week and I learned real quick that pre-terminating drops in the truck saves you when you can't get a bucket near a line. I now keep 150 feet of spare cable and a crimping kit in the van at all times, that storm paid for itself. Has anyone else had a weather event that forced them to change their standard practice?

That "150 feet of spare cable" bit really hit home, man, that storm was brutal for everyone I knew down there. Glad you found a system that works, nothing worse than scrambling in the dark when you're already freezing.
