That old coax vs. the new fiber dilemma I faced last spring
Had to choose between running a fresh RG6 drop or pulling fiber to a new build in Covington back in April. I went with fiber since the customer wanted gig speeds, but the termination kit cost me $300 more than I budgeted. Turned out fine but the old coax would've been half the headache on the ladder. Any other installers prefer sticking with copper for residential jobs?

Fiber's great until you're holding a $300 termination kit wondering why you didn't just grab the coax.

$300 termination kit" hits hard. But hey, at least you get to stare at that little vial of polishing film and wonder if you're about to turn a $100 drop into an empty hole. Coax just needs a $6 compression fitting and some basic hand strength.
