TIL that attic insulation in Florida is a whole different beast
I was doing a job near Tampa last week and crawled into an attic that had R-value way higher than we see up north, but the real problem was the condensation everywhere. Has anyone else run into moisture issues down south that you don't deal with in other climates?

Oh man, I'd probably sweat more than the insulation does in that attic.

Wait, @margaretj40, you're telling me there's actual insulation up there that sweats? That's wild. I mean, I always figured insulation was supposed to be dry and keep moisture out, not soak it up like a sponge. Honestly, that sounds like a nightmare to deal with, especially if it's causing mold or rot in the attic. Maybe it's just me, but I'd be freaking out checking every joist and rafter for damage before it spreads to the rest of the house. How do you even begin to fix something like that without just ripping it all out?
