Used a thermal camera on a rough-in yesterday, found a live line behind drywall

Was troubleshooting a dead outlet in a Denver basement remodel and pulled out my FLIR, caught a hot wire running right where the blueprint said nothing should be. Old sparky must have rerouted it during a past reno. Emailed the GC a photo and he said the customer would've had a bad day if we'd drilled. Anyone else carry a thermal cam on site or is that overkill for most jobs?

Man, that thermal cam just paid for itself in one save, my luck usually runs the opposite way where I find the surprise wire with a drill bit. Keep that thing charged and in the truck, it beats the old knock-and-listen method by a mile. Glad the GC listened too, half the time they just shrug and say "drywall's cheap.
