Vent: Drilled through a live line because I trusted the toner instead of my eyes
Honestly, I had to choose between using my usual toner and probe setup or just tracing the old coax by hand on a 3 story apartment in Tulsa. I picked the toner because it's faster and I had 2 more jobs that day. Halfway through a penetration drill, I hit a live drop that someone had rerouted but never labeled. It cost me a $220 service call and a pissed off landlord who saw the spark. Now I always pull the faceplates and eyeball the path before I drill, even if it adds 15 minutes. Has anyone else had a toner lie to them like that on an older build?
