A blob of solder fell into a Nikon F2 and I spent 2 hours hunting it with a flashlight
Last Tuesday I had a Nikon F2 on the bench for a shutter CLA and things were going great until my iron slipped and a tiny bead of solder dropped straight down into the body. I shook it, flipped it, blew air through it, nothing. Sat there with a flashlight and a magnifier poking around the mirror box for way too long before I heard it rattle near the film advance gears. Fish it out with a dental pick and tweezers and the camera worked fine, but my back was killing me from hunching over for 2 hours. Does anyone keep a magnet tray or some kind of catch net under their work when they solder near open bodies?
