Appreciation post: the old guy at my local shop in Fresno who told me to stop buying shutter assemblies sight unseen
He told me straight up last Tuesday, 'Half the leaf blades you swap in are bent worse than the ones you pull out, and you won't know til the curtain hangs at 1/500,' which is why I now test every single one on a beat up Nikkormat before it goes in a customer's camera.
