Guy at the flea market told me to hit stuck shutter blades with a pencil eraser. He was right.

Picked up a beat up Canon AE-1 for $40 at a flea market last Saturday, shutter was stuck half open. Some old timer selling used lenses saw me fiddling with it and said "rub the blades with a pencil eraser, not oil." I figured he was full of it, but I tried it on the exposed blade edges anyway. Worked like a charm, no disassembly needed, just a few gentle passes and it fired smooth. Anyone else got weird cheap tricks that actually save you from a full teardown?
