I finally learned my lesson about buying used lenses without testing them first

Wasted $180 on a 50mm 1.4 from a seller in Austin last month, lens looked clean but the aperture blades were sticky and slow. Took me 3 hours to realize the oil on the blades was causing the lag, now I'm stuck with a paperweight. Anyone got a reliable method for cleaning oily aperture blades without taking the whole thing apart?

Man I did the exact same thing with a Nikon 50mm last year, still kicking myself over it.

Eh, I don't know, sometimes the learning experience is worth the cost.
