I fought against online repair guides, but now they're my go-to for training new hires.
Sharing screen recordings of common fixes has sped up learning way more than shadowing ever did!

Basically YouTube taught a whole generation car maintenance.

My dad swears by his old Chilton manuals, but @the_jason is right, YouTube made it way easier for us.

Give YouTube its due, @the_jason, it's a huge help. (seriously, saved me on brake jobs). But it didn't teach a whole generation alone. We also learned from friends, family, and those confusing repair manuals. Plus, some people just never learn, no matter how many videos they watch. So it's more like YouTube filled in the gaps for a lot of us.
