Lost a shutter spring in my shop carpet and found it 3 days later stuck to my dog's paw

I spent Monday morning rebuilding a Pentax Spotmatic, flicked a tiny spring off my tweezers at 10 AM, and after tearing the whole room apart I finally spotted it when my golden retriever walked in with it glittering on his pad like a weird little jewel, anyone else lose parts to weird places like that?

found it 3 days later stuck to my dog's paw" - that's some luck right there. My cat once stole a carburetor gasket and I found it in her water bowl.
