My $80 mistake with a cheap lens spanner tool
I bought a no-name lens spanner from an online market to fix a stuck zoom ring, and the tips bent on the first real turn, scratching the lens barrel. That cost me $80 to fix the cosmetic damage at a local shop. What's the one tool you will never cheap out on again?

My $30 kitchen knife story fits with @gonzalez.vera, cheap tools just cost more later.

Ever think cheap tools waste your time more than money?

Feel your pain, that sucks. Learned the same lesson with screwdrivers for electronics. Bought a cheap set and the tips stripped a tiny screw head, made the whole repair way harder. Now I just buy the good stuff for anything that touches my gear.
