That Saturday in 2009 when I taped six hours of KND and my mom let me keep the TV
I was 13 and my mom was working a double at the diner in Tacoma, so she left me home with a frozen pizza and one rule: don't touch the thermostat. It was the one Saturday Cartoon Network ran that big KND marathon before the show got pulled off the schedule, and I set up two VHS tapes to catch all of it. Around hour three the tracking on the second tape went fuzzy, so I sat there with a pencil winding the spool by hand and missed a whole episode. The show still holds up for me, mostly because the jokes about adult paperwork land way harder now that I'm the one filling it out. The one thing that aged bad is how they wrote Numbuh 5, my niece watched a few episodes and she just rolled her eyes at it. Did any of you tape whole marathons back then, and do those old recordings still play or did the tape wear out?
