Saw a car hauler in Sacramento last Thursday and counted 3 straps that were frayed to nothing
So last Thursday I was at a gas station off I-5 just south of Sacramento and this open carrier pulled in with 7 cars on it. I like looking at the setups since I've had my Mustang shipped twice, and I walked past the driver side just being nosy. Three of the tie down straps were frayed so bad you could see the white core threads, one was maybe a quarter of the way chewed through. I asked the driver about it and he just shrugged and said "they hold fine." That car on the top front had a 2019 Camaro on it, and I keep thinking about some guy waiting on that car having no clue what's under it. I know shippers are under time crunch and strap wear happens, but that's a liability thing, right? If you've used a broker, did you ever ask for pics of the straps or am I being paranoid here? And if anyone has a carrier they trust out of the West Coast, I'd take the name, because I need to move a car to Boise in April and now I'm spooked.
