Coffee with my old supervisor made me question my whole job hunt

I met up with my former boss last Friday at a diner in Cleveland for like two hours. She told me that she never once regretted hiring for personality over skill, and that I was too focused on titles and pay. It hit different because she hired me fresh out of trade school with zero experience, and I ended up staying 4 years. Now I'm second guessing if I should apply for a lower paying role just to work with a good team again. Has anyone else passed up a better salary for a better crew and how did that turn out?
