Had a manager tell me my emails were too 'corporate' and it totally changed how I talk to clients
She said 'nobody wants to read a wall of text with fancy words, just talk like a normal person.' I dropped all the formal greetings and started writing shorter emails, and my response rates went up by like 30% in 2 months. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made them completely switch their approach?

Did you ever try the opposite and go super casual with a client only to have them hit you with a "can you please use proper business format"? I did that once and the guy wrote back asking if I was texting my buddy or doing business. It's wild how much it varies person to person. Now I kinda read the room first like if they sign off with "Best" or "Cheers" I match that energy but if they go full "Sincerely" I stay formal-ish.

Oh totally, that happened to me too. A client once told me my emails sounded like I was reading off a script and once I chilled out with the formal stuff everything clicked way better.
