Hot take: I applied to 60 jobs online with no callbacks, then 3 in person with a paper resume in Austin
Last year I was sitting at my kitchen table firing off 15 applications a night through one of those big job sites and got nothing back for 5 months. My cousin who runs a print shop in Austin told me to walk into 3 small offices near me with a printed resume and ask for the manager by name. Two of those 3 gave me an interview on the spot and one turned into a $52k job I still have today. Turns out the person reading my screen was a filter, and the person reading my paper was a human. Has anyone else gone back to showing up in person, or is that just an Austin thing?
