My boss walked in while I was crying over a spreadsheet at 3 AM and just handed me a Snickers bar

I was at my desk in our office downtown Austin trying to reconcile a 47 page budget report for a quarterly review. I had been staring at this one formula error for 3 hours and it was making me tear up from frustration. My manager came in to grab her coat and saw me, and she just silently put a Snickers on my keyboard and left. The weird thing is after I ate it and stepped away for 5 minutes, I found the mistake in 30 seconds flat. Has anyone else had a weird non-advice moment that actually helped your work more than any meeting could?

The Snickers was a distraction more than real help, honestly. Taking a break is fine and all but that doesn't mean your boss should be handing out candy like a substitute teacher. If she really wanted to help she could have asked if you needed more time or help with the report instead of acting like a vending machine.

My coworker Jen once got a granola bar and it just made her hangry, @the_robin.
