Read a career blog that said most people spend 40% of their time on low value tasks
I was looking up how to negotiate a raise and stumbled on this blog post from a guy who used to work at Google. He tracked his time for two weeks and found out he was spending almost half his day on stuff that didn't matter for his actual job goals. Emails, meetings that could have been emails, formatting reports nobody reads. He said the trick is to look at what you do that only YOU can do and push everything else off. I started looking at my own week and honestly I think I'm probably worse than 40%. How do you guys figure out what's actually worth your time at work?

Wait only 40%? That honestly sounds way too low.

Oh come on, really? I think it's way more common than people admit. Most folks just don't remember the other 60% because they tune out or scroll past it. Look at any campaign from Target or Nike - half the time I can't even tell you what they were selling. Just a vibe or a color. And personally, I zone out on at least half the ads I see online. 40% sticking sounds about right to me.
