Saw a job posting asking for 5 years experience in a software that's only been out for 2 years

I was scrolling through LinkedIn yesterday and found this listing for a senior developer role. They wanted someone with 5 years of React 18 experience. React 18 came out in 2022. How is that even possible? I guess they just copy and paste requirements without thinking. Has anyone else run into job postings with impossible experience demands?

The "10 years of Kubernetes" thing really got me. That is just pure laziness on the hiring team's part. I saw one for a "Senior Wordpress Developer" that required 8 years of experience with the Gutenberg block editor, which has only been standard for like 4 years. It feels like they just copy pasted a template from 2016 and changed the tech stack without thinking. Makes you wonder if they even know what the software does or if they just saw the name on a list somewhere.

That React 18 requirement is a perfect example of how lazy hiring managers have gotten. I interviewed at a company last month that wanted 10 years of Kubernetes experience for a junior role. The tech has only been around since 2014. Did they honestly think someone was running K8s in production before it was even released to the public? It makes me wonder if they actually read the resumes they get or just scan for keywords. What kind of experience are they really expecting when the software hasn't existed that long?
