Serious question, have you ever called a boss by the wrong name in a meeting?

I did that once and it taught me to slow down and pay attention to details.

Ever think about how this happens more with bosses who go by a nickname? Like you're used to calling them "Mike" but in a formal meeting you panic and say "Michael" and it sounds totally weird. I messed that up once and it made things more awkward than if I'd just used the wrong name lol. Now I stick to whatever name they use in emails to avoid the whole thing.

Totally get that panic. What worked for me was just copying exactly what they call themselves in their email signature. Saves all the overthinking.

I always thought you should use their full name to be respectful. But copying the email signature thing actually makes way more sense.
