Showerthought: entry level jobs used to mean no experience needed
I was talking to my nephew last week and he told me he needs 2 years of experience just to apply for a basic office assistant gig. Back when I started out, entry level meant they would train you on the job. When did that flip and how are kids supposed to get that first foot in the door now?

Entry level just means you're entering the job market with experience somehow already.

Entry level has always meant you're fresh out of school or switching fields with zero real world experience. Companies that ask for 2+ years are just playing games with job titles. The whole thing about needing experience to get experience is a scam some places use to underpay people. If a job ad says entry level but wants 3 years, that's just a junior role with a bad label.
