Spent 6 weeks fighting a job offer over one line about a non-compete, and HR would not budge

I pushed back on a 30 mile radius clause at a company in Austin and it dragged on so long the hiring manager moved to another team. Has anyone actually gotten HR to change that stuff, or do you just sign and hope?
