That one Wednesday where I accidentally fixed a broken printer with a paperclip and got promoted to IT lead
I was just trying to get my report printed at 9 AM when the office printer jammed, so I grabbed a random paperclip from my desk and poked around inside until it spit out 50 pages of someone's wedding photos. The next day my boss said I saved us $400 on a repair call and asked if I wanted to run the whole department. Has anyone else stumbled into a career upgrade by pure dumb luck?

Fixed a broken printer with a paperclip" - that's a movie plot.

@lily230 I feel your pain so much. Printer problems are the absolute WORST and sometimes you just gotta MacGyver it with whatever is lying around. Seriously, I once used a bobby pin to fix a paper jam and felt like a tech wizard.

Had a buddy who once taped a paper towel roll to the side of his printer to catch the pages coming out because the output tray broke off. Said it looked like a sad little robot arm but worked perfectly for like three months. Another time he used a chopstick to unjam a piece of paper that was stuck way in the back. He was so proud of himself, took a photo and everything. Honestly, printers just bring out the scrappy engineer in all of us.
