Why does nobody talk about asking for feedback on your resume from people outside your field
I spent weeks tweaking my resume for a project manager role, but kept getting rejected. A friend of mine who works in graphic design looked at it and told me the layout was terrible and the font was too small. I reformatted it using a simple template from Google Docs and suddenly got 3 interviews in 2 weeks. Has anyone else had luck getting outsiders to look at their job materials?

Whoa, that's wild... I had something kinda similar happen where my uncle who owns a hardware store looked at my cover letter and told me it sounded like a robot wrote it, so I rewrote it in simpler words and got way more replies. @the_betty's right that outsiders catch stuff we're blind to, like when my uncle said my tone was too formal and to just talk normal... It's funny how someone looking at it fresh can spot the real issues that hiring managers are seeing.
