A job in Portland made me rethink my nail gun choice

I was framing a garage addition and my usual 16-gauge nailer kept sinking the heads too deep into the treated lumber, splitting a few boards. Switched to an 18-gauge pin nailer for the rest and it held without damage. Anyone have a go-to gun for pressure-treated pine?

Honestly, I used to grab whatever nailer was closest. After a similar mess with split boards, I'm a lot more careful about matching the gauge to the wood now.

Ever notice how the right tool changes everything?

Totally. Was trying to fix a loose screw with a butter knife for ages. Got a proper screwdriver and it took two seconds. Night and day difference.
