Appreciation post for the simple 3/4 inch chisel that saved a door frame job

The hinge mortise router bit snapped halfway through the second unit, but I finished the set cleanly by hand. Anyone have a go-to brand for those bits that can handle oak?

Funny how the fancy tool fails and the basic one saves the day (happens with my crew all the time). For oak, we've had good luck with Freud bits, they seem to hold up.

Totally get that. Freud bits are solid for hardwoods. Keep a can of compressed air handy to clear sawdust, that's what usually gums up the works.
