Bought a cheap miter saw stand for a job in Bend and it cost me a full day

I mean, it was a no-name brand stand for like $80 and the legs collapsed under a basic DeWalt saw. Had to drive back to town, buy a new one, and re-cut half the trim. Anyone else have a tool fail that bad on site?

Wait, it collapsed under a DeWalt? That's the part that gets me. Those are solid saws but they're not exactly industrial monsters. What was that stand even made of, tin foil and wishes?

Yeah honestly I feel like people sleep on how heavy a DeWalt saw can get once you slap a 9Ah Flexvolt battery on it lol. But yeah tin foil and wishes is about right for those cheap Amazon stands.

DeWalt saws have some serious weight to them, especially with a battery pack. A cheap stand with thin legs would absolutely buckle under that. It's more about bad stand design than the saw being too heavy.
