Hot take: A block of scrap wood fixed my wobbly table saw fence

I was working on a big cabinet project and my table saw fence kept moving, messing up my cuts. I tried to tighten all the bolts, but it still had some play. Then I thought back to a tip from an old carpenter I knew. I grabbed a piece of leftover oak and cut a small block with my hand saw. I wedged it tight between the fence and the saw's rail. It took maybe two minutes to get it just right. Now the fence does not budge at all, and my cuts are perfect. This little hack saved me time and money on a new fence.

That oak block idea is a lifesaver... my old Delta fence had the same drift. I wasted a whole Saturday trying to adjust the cam lock before I shoved a wedge of pine in there. Nothing worse than that little bit of play ruining a cut. Really glad you found a fix that sticks.

That's interesting, idk if I'd trust a wood block fix long term. Maybe it's just me but a pine wedge feels like it'd wear out faster than dealing with the cam lock again.
