I finally fixed a door jamb I messed up 8 months ago

I screwed up a pocket door install back in February and the jamb was sitting crooked by about 3/16 of an inch. Every time I walked past it in my own house it bugged me but I kept putting off the fix. Finally yesterday I ripped out the old shims and used a 48 inch level to get it dead straight. Has anyone else had a small mistake haunt them way longer than it should have?

Hah, I spent TWO YEARS walking past a light switch cover that was slightly crooked because I didn't want to mess with the drywall anchors again. Could have fixed it in ten minutes but my brain made it seem like a whole project.

3/16 of an inch is literally nothing though. That's like the thickness of two credit cards stacked on top of each other. I'm with @the_lucas on this one but I actually think obsessing over tiny imperfections is kind of a waste of mental energy. Houses settle, wood expands and contracts, nothing stays perfectly straight forever. I've got a door in my house thats off by at least half an inch and I honestly don't even notice it anymore because I stopped caring about things that don't actually make the door not work. Sometimes the best fix is just training your brain to not look at it.
