I finally gave up on my old corded circular saw after trying a friend's brushless model on a deck job last month.

My old Makita lasted 15 years, but @margaretj40 is right, the new brushless ones are just a different animal.

Oh man, did you feel that weight difference too? I switched last year and it's like night and day... my old one just sits in the garage now.

Nah, I still grab my old one for quick jobs. The lighter weight just doesn't feel as solid to me.
