Just dropped $250 on a Japanese pull saw for a tricky trim job and it cut my time in half.

What's your go-to specialty tool that's actually worth the cash?

Which brand of pull saw was it?

Funny you ask about the brand, @bettyperry. It's a Suizan, and it got me thinking how we all get stuck on brand names for tools. We spend hours reading reviews online, trying to find the perfect one. But the real trick is just picking a decent one and learning how to use it well. That practice matters way more than the logo on the handle. It's a small lesson that applies to so many things.

That part about picking a decent one and learning to use it is SO true. I see it with my fancy kitchen knives. People buy the expensive one and still can't chop an onion. But my buddy with his basic, sharp chef's knife makes it look easy. It's not about the tool, it's about the time you put in with it. We forget the skill part.
