My brand new framing nailer locked up on day 2 of a deck job

Was working on a deck in Katy last Thursday, about 30 nails in on my new nailer, and it just seized up completely. The piston jammed halfway and I couldn't get the safety to reset no matter what I did. Tried blowing it out with compressed air and even hit it with some gun oil, but nothing worked for 20 minutes. Had to borrow a buddy's old Paslode just to finish the framing before the rain came at 3pm. Turned out a single deformed nail had split and lodged in the magazine track, which I didn't even think was possible with these newer models. Has anyone else had a random nail jam ruin a whole day of work like that?

Man that's rough, I feel your pain lol. Nothing worse than a brand new tool letting you down right when you need it most, especially with rain coming. Hope you managed to get that deck finished before it got soaked.

Heard the same thing happen to my buddy Mike with his new miter saw last weekend. The thing just died halfway through cutting trim for his living room, and he had to borrow his neighbor's old corded one to finish up. He was fuming about it for days lol.
