My miter gauge was drifting an eighth on every cut until an old timer in Portland showed me to wax the bar
I fought this for two weeks, thought my blade was out of true, and the fix was rubbing a candle stub on the slot, so what else have you all picked up from guys who have been at it longer than us?
Man, an eighth on every cut is a lot. Waxing the bar is good and all, but that sounds more like a band aid than a real fix. If it was drifting that bad I'd be checking the slot for burrs or slop in the gauge itself before blaming friction. Glad it worked for you though.
