My new tape measure failed after 3 days on a deck build

Picked up one of those fancy magnetic ones from the hardware store, and the tab snapped right off on day 3. Went back to my old worn out Stanley and finished the job. Anyone else have bad luck with the newer tape brands?

Man you just got a dud, happens with any brand. My magnetic FatMax has been through three roofs and a deck rebuild last summer and that thing is still going strong. Love being able to stick it to the trusses instead of wrestling with it every time.

Sticking it to trusses" would just be me sticking it to myself, knowing my luck
