Perfect week last month then a total disaster the next day
Last month I had a run of trim work in a house in Portland that went flawless for 5 straight days. Crown molding miters fit tight, baseboards lined up perfect, no callbacks. Then the next morning I went to cut a piece of poplar and my miter saw blade caught a nail I somehow missed. Threw the piece back at me and cracked the fence on my saw. Had to stop work for 2 hours to adjust everything. Has anyone else had a week like that where everything goes right then one mistake ruins it?

That nail must've been hiding in a knot. Happens to all of us eventually.

Pre-drilling a tiny pilot hole (just a hair smaller than the nail) saved me so many bent nails and busted knuckles. Game changer for those hidden knots!
