Stopped eyeballing my cuts and started using a story stick on kitchen cabinets
For a long time I marked every rail and stile by tape measure, and I'd lose an 1/8 inch somewhere by the time I got around a run of uppers. A guy named Dale at the lumber yard in Amarillo showed me his story stick trick, just a scrap of 1x2 with pencil ticks for every measurement on the job. Now I make one stick per kitchen and my reveals come out even on the first try. Anybody else keep a story stick around, or do you just trust the tape?
