Swapped from a nail gun to hand driving on a job near Nashville and it slowed me down but cleaned up my work

I had this trim job last month in an old house near Nashville where the owner didn't want any compressor noise. So I put down my 15 gauge and picked up a hammer and finish nails for the first time in years. At first I was frustrated, took me twice as long to get the baseboards up. But after a few hours I noticed something, my nail placement was way more careful and I had zero blowouts. The headless nails sank clean without filling anything and the miters stayed tight because I wasn't rushing. By the end of the second day I was actually enjoying the rhythm of it. Has anyone else gone back to old school methods and found the work turned out better?

That slower pace really makes you think through every swing.

Surprised nobody's mentioned how it changes your balance though. The slower tempo forces you to hold your weight transfer longer, @david_hayes, which actually helped me stop lunging at pitches. Makes you realize how rushed most swings really are.
