Why does nobody talk about checking drywall moisture before hanging
Last month I framed a basement reno in Portland and skipped the moisture meter, big mistake. The homeowner's sump pump had a slow leak behind the poly, and by the time we caught it, 12 sheets of 5/8 board were already up and swelling. A 40 dollar meter would've shown the slab at 18% before we even started, I'm curious if any of you check moisture on every job or just when it looks sketchy?

That 18% reading on the slab, was that before the poly went down or did you catch it after the fact?
