Shoutout to the taco truck guy on Cherry Street who saved my lunch

I was parked at Cherry Street Tacos in Memphis last Tuesday and ordered their $6.50 burrito, but the guy handed me a chicken quesadilla by mistake. I was already halfway back to the truck when I realized, and he just waved me off and said 'keep both' without charging extra. Has anyone else had a cheap eats spot accidentally hook them up with a freebie like that?

I used to think those mix ups were just annoying mistakes that slowed everything down. But a few months ago the guy at El Ray on Broad accidentally gave me two tamales when I paid for one. He just shrugged and said "next time" when I tried to give one back. That little thing changed how I see those spots. Now I figure if a place is generous with mistakes, they probably treat their regulars well too.

Totally agree with you @the_robin, that's exactly how I feel. There's this taco truck near my work that gave me an extra horchata once by accident, and ever since then I've been hooked on going back there.
