That $3 taco truck near the Oakland DMV changed my mind about cheap fish
I used to skip any fish taco under $5 because I figured cheap fish meant old fish, and I got burned once at a spot in Fresno that kept me in the bathroom all night. Last Tuesday I was waiting on my registration renewal at the DMV on Claremont and got hungry enough to try the truck parked across the street, two fish tacos for $6 total. The fish was crispy, the crema was fresh, and the salsa roja had actual heat instead of just coloring. I went back Friday and the same guy remembered my order, so now I want to know which cheap fish spots in your city actually hold up.
