Can we talk about the self-checkout at the Food Giant on Elm
I decided to use the self-checkout with a full cart, about 35 items, because the regular line was long. The machine kept flagging things for weight errors, and a worker had to come over four times, making it take longer than just waiting. Has anyone else found that using the self-checkout for a big trip just makes more work?

What about the people who just stand there and watch you struggle? I feel more pressure from the silent line behind me than the machine itself.

Well, I have to disagree a bit. I use that self-checkout with a full cart all the time. The trick is to put your heavy bags in the bagging area first, before you even start scanning. That way, the scale is already set. If you add bags as you go, it always throws a fit. I just put my reusable totes down, hit "start," and it usually goes smooth.
