I finally walked out of a grocery line after 8 minutes of waiting

Stood at the Albertsons on 5th street Tuesday with one guy ahead of me who was arguing a coupon for like 5 minutes. The cashier just stood there nodding and I finally just left my basket on the rack and walked out. Has anyone else actually bailed on a cart mid-line?

haha oh man I did the exact same thing at a Safeway last month. There was this lady arguing with the cashier over a sale that ended three days ago, and I just stood there staring at my melting ice cream like an idiot. After 10 minutes I finally put my basket right on the floor by the candy rack and walked out. Honestly felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders, like I was breaking out of prison or something. Now I have a hard limit of 5 minutes, once that timer hits I am gone no questions asked.

That 5 minute hard limit is genius actually... I should adopt that rule for myself. My breaking point was similar, watching a lady argue over 47 cents while my ice cream melted into soup made me realize my time is worth more than a hassle. Been walking out guilt free ever since and it's honestly the best feeling leaving all that behind.
