Old guy at the hardware store gave me a tip that saved my back today

I was standing in line at Ace Hardware on Main Street yesterday holding a cheap hand truck, and this retired contractor behind me said 'son, get the one with the fat tires, it will save you a trip to the chiropractor.' He pointed to a $60 model with pneumatic wheels, so I swapped it out and used it to haul 8 bags of mulch across my bumpy yard. Has anyone else had a stranger change your mind on something simple like that?

Did you see that other thing about how the wider tire footprint spreads the shock load more evenly? I remember reading somewhere that it's not just the thickness but also the lower tire pressure that does the real work. A buddy of mine switched to fat tires on his commuter bike and said his lower back feels way better after a long ride. Made me think about getting a set for my own bike, but I worry about the extra weight dragging me down.
