Pro tip: Stop stuffing 15 items in the 10-item lane

I see it happen at my local Safeway on Broadway at least twice a week. Someone gets in the express lane with a full cart and acts surprised when the checker calls them out. It makes the line take 5 extra minutes for everyone behind them. How do you handle people who ignore the sign?

Honestly wonder if people are making this into a bigger deal than it is. Like sometimes you just don't have anything to say in the moment, that's fine. If the conversation is awkward, maybe it's not that deep. I've been in meetings where someone just nods and I barely notice because we're all tired. Unless they're staring at you like a creepy statue, probably just move on.
