Rant: The self-checkout at the Kroger on Maple Street is a disaster

I was there last night after my shift, and the machine just froze after I scanned my third item. The screen said 'please wait for assistance' for a full 7 minutes before anyone came over. I know everyone says they're faster, but that's just not my experience at all. Has anyone else had this happen at that specific location?

You're not alone, that exact thing happened to me there last Tuesday. I was trying to buy a frozen pizza and some soda, and the machine just died after the bagging area got confused. The employee looked just as fed up as I was when she finally came over. Are the ones at the other Kroger any better?

Feel like those machines are just training us to be more patient. The other store's are maybe 5% less likely to freeze up, in my experience.

Actually, those machines just make me want to shop somewhere else entirely.
