Swapped 10 item max self checkout for the full cart lane, not going back

Used to hit the self checkout with a cart full of random stuff, always got the stink eye from the cashier monitoring all 4 stations. Then last month I tried the regular lane at our Kroger on a Tuesday morning and the cashier actually chatted with me while I unpacked, took maybe 3 minutes longer but zero stress. Has anyone else made the jump to a human cashier just to avoid the beeping and the feeling like you are stealing something on accident?
