The lady in front of me at the grocery store last Tuesday

She turned around, saw my one item, and let me go ahead of her full cart. She just said, 'Looks like you're on a mission.' It was such a small thing, but it made my whole errand feel easier. Anyone have a nice checkout line story?

My local hardware store cashier did that for me last week when I was just buying a single lightbulb. Those little moments really do brighten your day.

Honestly I used to think those small talk moments were just empty, but then a cashier at the grocery store remembered I always buy the weird sparkling water. She asked if I was stocking up. It made me feel seen, you know? Totally changed how I view those quick chats.

Right? It's the tiny stuff that sticks with you. Like when the coffee shop person starts making your usual order before you even say it. Makes the whole routine feel less lonely somehow. That hardware store cashier probably had no idea how much that meant. What's your favorite small kindness you've gotten lately?
