The self-checkout machine froze after I scanned my 16th item and I lost the whole order

Had to call for help and wait 12 minutes while they rebooted the thing, then scan everything again from scratch. Has anyone else had a store just give up and let you walk with the stuff for free after that kind of hassle?

12 minutes sounds like a win actually, you got a forced break and free entertainment watching them scramble. Companies are way too generous with freebies already, maybe they should charge a convenience fee for the time you wasted.

@lily230 I just started keeping a small task list on my phone for those situations, like replying to emails or clearing notifications. Gives me something productive to do while I wait without getting annoyed. Turned my last 15 minute delay into catching up on a few quick replies, honestly felt way less frustrated about it.
