Two lanes open at Aldi and I picked the one with the coupon lady
So last Tuesday I'm at the Aldi on Dixon Blvd with like 14 items in my cart, and both lanes are open. Lane 1 has a guy with three things. Lane 2 has a woman holding a fistful of paper coupons and a binder. I'm thinking, no way, and I get in lane 1 feeling like a genius. Then the guy in front of me pulls out a checkbook. An actual checkbook. He writes the check, then stands there chatting with the cashier about her son's baseball team for what felt like 10 solid minutes. Meanwhile coupon lady is done and out the door with her bags. I stood there squeezing my cold rotisserie chicken watching her walk to her car. The lady behind me goes "should've taken the coupon lady" and I had to laugh because yeah, I really should have. So what's the move here, do you always dodge the coupon person or is that a trap too?
